Support Services

GSiL provides support and builds on the life skills of young people with the aim that the young person becomes more confident and able to lead an independent life. Each support package is specifically tailored to meet the individual needs of each young person, such support includes:

  • Everyday budgeting;
  • Shopping, cooking and nutrition;
  • Cleaning and maintaining a home;
  • Paying bills;
  • Staying safe at home;
  • Managing behaviour and being part of a community;
  • Positive healthy life styles; and
  • Accessing the help they might need e.g. medical, legal, training/education, apprenticeship and employment.

Our support to young people needing high-level of support could be 24/7 or it could be a low level floating support, which simply assesses their wellbeing on a weekly basis or as required. The nature and level of support for young people are based on various factors, including their needs and outcomes as agreed with the young people and their placement authorities.
